Hello, my name is Roy Allen. I was born and raised at the edge of Plymouth, Minnesota. Back then, there were only three houses in my neighborhood. If I walked through a little stretch of woods, I would find suburbia, but if I went the other way, it was the countryside.
There was a lot of accordion playing from my uncle and oldest sister. My other older sister taught me guitar at age ten. Although I didn’t practice much until later in life, I am now a 65-year-old musician who wishes I had put in more effort. However, I'm getting out there as a singer and performer, and I love it.
I felt I was improving as a musician when the rug was pulled out from under me. During a doctor’s visit, I was diagnosed with cancer. After undergoing radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery, seven months later, here I am, continuing my journey as a songwriter and sharing my music.
